Installation

Install Peppermint on macOS, Windows or Linux.

Download the build for your system from the download page. Your platform is detected automatically, and every build is listed there.

macOS

  1. Download the universal .dmg. It runs natively on both Apple Silicon and Intel Macs.
  2. Open the disk image and drag Peppermint into your Applications folder.
  3. Launch Peppermint from Applications or Spotlight.

Windows

You can choose between an installer and a portable archive.

  1. Download the installer for your processor: x64 for Intel and AMD, ARM64 for Snapdragon devices.
  2. Run the .exe and follow the prompts.
  3. Prefer no installer? Download the portable .zip, extract it anywhere and run peppermint.exe.

Linux

Peppermint is distributed as a compressed archive for x86_64 and aarch64.

# Extract the archive
tar -xJf zen.linux-x86_64.tar.xz

# Run the binary inside the extracted folder
./peppermint/peppermint

You need a 64-bit distribution with GTK 3 and a recent glibc. Move the extracted folder anywhere you like, for example /opt/peppermint, and add a launcher to your desktop environment.

Updating

Download the latest build and install it over your existing copy. Your profile, spaces, notes and settings are kept, because they live in Peppermint’s own profile.
